chapter466
Iceblade was almost unfairly hot. Seriously, it wasn't just Lucinda. Any girl would have a hard time resisting the way he flirted.
She stared at him, wide-eyed and flustered. "You... you..."
His smile just grew, all confidence and mischief. "You don't believe me?"
"Stop it. If you keep this up, I'll tell my parents and have them kick you out." Lucinda didn't know what was happening to her. For a second, she'd almost fallen under his spell.
"I'm not making anything up. I fell for you the moment I saw you. Can't you tell?" Iceblade said, stepping closer, like he was about to kiss her.
Lucinda's heart raced and she stumbled back, cheeks burning.
Maybe it was because Lydia had been making her feel so small lately, so hearing someone say they liked her instead of Lydia felt like a win. Ha, maybe Jay actually had good taste. Lydia wasn't all that special anyway.
"You... you really like me?" Lucinda asked, feeling a sudden surge of pride. If Jay wanted to stick by her side, she wasn't about to stop him.
Iceblade just blinked at her. Did you need something, Lucinda?"
She hesitated, thinking it over.
He lowered his voice, almost conspiratorial. "Whatever you want, I'll make it happen."
Lucinda grinned. "So if I asked you to steal Lydia away from Connor, you'd do it?"
Iceblade looked surprised. "You're into Connor?"
"That's not your business. Just get Lydia away from him, and..." she trailed off.
"But I like you," he said again.
Lucinda lifted her chin, acting like a queen. "If you can break them up, I'll owe you a favor. Anything you want."
Her tone made it clear what she meant. If Iceblade wanted to take things further, she might just say yes.
Iceblade's grin turned sly. "This is getting interesting."
When Lucinda w
walked back to the
arena, she was strutting. She didn't even know where the confidence came from, but suddenly she felt like she was running the show. She glanced over at Lydia and Connor, stiff glued to each other, and smirked to herself. Jay and Lydia had known each other forever if Jay wanted to, he could easily mess things up between them. At this point, Lucinda didn't even care about winning Connor over. If she couldn't have him, Lydia wasn't going to either.
The results were announced. NO1 took first place. Chris was second. Jay came in third.
NO1 had totally stolen the spotlight The announcer didn't even mention Jay until the very end and when his name came up for third place, Lucinda just stared in shock.
Cameron and Kylie both turned to stare at Iceblade. "Jay, you... you actually got third place?"
Iceblade just shrugged with a small smile. Compared to NO1, it's no big deal.
Lucinda suddenly felt nervous. Lydia and Jay had gone to see Chris together earlier. Did that mean...?
"Lydia, you..." Kylie started, barely able to contain her excitement.
Lydia just put a finger to her lips, telling her to keep quiet.
Kylie caught on right away, her whole face lighting up. "Lydia, you're incredible!"
Connor grabbed Lydia's hand and pulled her out of her seat, calling the others to follow. Come on, let's go wait for Chris outside."
Once they got outside, Cameron couldn't help but laugh out loud. "Lydia! Your mom and I always said NO1 reminded us of you. We weren't wrong It really was you! Lydia, sweetheart, you're amazing. We ares so proud of you!
As he spoke, Cameron's eyes started to well up.
