chapter465
Lucinda immediately let her imagination run wild when she heard Iceblade's comment. She shot them both a sly look. "Lydia, were you two just... you know?"
Iceblade lifted an eyebrow. "And what exactly do you think we were doing?"
"Lydia, I'm dying to know too. What were you two up to?" Kylie chimed in, eyes sparkling with curiosity. Unlike Lucinda, she was just hoping Lydia and Jay had been racing together.
Lydia, your mom keeps saying NO1 looks and acts just like you. We were actually guessing that maybe you're NO1," Cameron said, looking Lydia up and down. The more he stared, the more convinced he became.
Blake, sitting a little farther away, noticed that Lydia's hair was damp with sweat. Suddenly, it clicked. His sister might actually be NO1 on the racetrack. She was the hacker L, Miss L, top scorer on the entrance exams, and a genius in medicine too. For someone as talented as her, being NO1 on top of everything else just made
sense.
Connor glanced over at Lydia and said casually, "By the way, Lucinda just told us that if you're really NO1, she'll literally take her head off and let you kick it around like a ball."
Lydia's lips twitched with amusement. "Is that so?"
Iceblade laughed quietly. "Sounds like it's time for her to start figuring out how to do that for you."
Lucinda just looked unimpressed. "There's no way my sister is NO1."
Iceblade stared at her, genuinely puzzled. Connor and the others had already
figured it out. Why couldn't Lucinda see it? No wonder she wasn't the real Norwood daughter. She was too dumb.
"Why not?" Iceblade asked, sounding bored.
Lucinda huffed. "The race isn't even over. NO1 is still out on the track."
"She already came in first. What else would she be doing out there?"
"But the event isn't finished. She has to stay inside for interviews and stuff," Lucinda replied, sounding absolutely certain, as if she knew NO1's every move.
Iceblade looked up at the ceiling and let out a long sigh. There was really no hope for her. "I need to wash my face."
He honestly couldn't deal with her any longer.
With so many people around, Lydia kept her voice low. "Once the
done, want to see how you ace is
plan to
take your head off and let mekick t around."
Lucinda rolled her eyes. Lydia was just making empty threats. Did she really think Lucinda would fall for that?
"Lydia, don't think you can just pretend to be NO1 because they wear a helmet. When the race is over, if No1 isn't you, are you ready to take your own bead off and let me use it as a ball? Lucinda shot back, not backing down.
Lydia just nodded. "Sure, no problem."
Kylie and Cameron exchanged awkward looks. With both their daughters betting like this, it felt weird to get in the middle of it.
Lucinda let out a cold laugh and stood up. "I'm going to the bathroom."
After splashing cold water on his face, Iceblade was drying his hands when Lucinda appeared behind him.
"Jay."
At the sound of her voice, Iceblade's lips curled into a teasing, almost wicked smile. "Lucinda."
His eyes were full of playful mischief, and Lucinda felt her cheeks get hot. She decided to just ask directly. Are you and my sister childhood friends?"
Iceblade nodded. "Yeah."
"Then... are you into her?" Lucinda pressed, trying to figure out what was really going on between them.
Iceblade's eyes sparkled, his deep,
smooth voice carrying a hint of
.n t
flirtation. "Why would you think that,
I'm interested in
Lucinda. The one I'm
is you.
