Upon hearing Iris cry, Rebecca rushed forward to hug her.
“Mom, what happened to Dad?”
Seeing how pitiful they looked, the doctors were visibly upset.
The doctor at the front sighed. “We’ve done everything we can, but there is one more option…”
Rebecca’s face immediately brightened as she looked at the doctor. “What is it? As long as there is a glimmer of hope, we’ll try it.”
The doctor nodded. “I know how much you want to help, but… it’s difficult to say.”
Rebecca wiped away her tears and earnestly replied, “It’s okay. Please tell me.”
The doctor sighed again. “There is a very skilled doctor. We don’t know if it’s a man or a woman or their age, but they have exceptional medical skills.”
Rebecca’s eyes lit up with hope. “Where is this doctor? No matter how difficult or expensive, we’ll find a way.”
“It’s not a matter of money,” the doctor said, looking helpless. “All we know is that this doctor’s code name is Kate.”
In other words, there was no other information except for a name.
Rebecca was disappointed, her face turning pale. The doctor had given her hope, only to take it away. “Thank you, doctor,” she mumbled, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Iris covered her face. “We haven’t done anything wrong. Why is this happening to us?”
Suddenly, a nurse’s voice interrupted their cries. “Hey, what are you doing? Get your hands off the patient!”
Both Iris and Rebecca looked toward the ward.
Sandra had walked into the room and was standing by the bed.
Iris, her eyes blurred from crying, couldn’t see clearly.

But Rebecca saw clearly!
Sandra inserted a thin silver needle into Oliver’s head. Her eyes widened in shock.
“Are you crazy?” The nurse in charge of the ward yelled.
If something happened to a patient under her supervision, she would be fired. So, when Sandra moved to insert the second needle, the nurse quickly stepped forward to stop her.
As the nurse rushed over, Sandra used her spare hand to press down on the nurse’s forehead. The nurse weighed around 120 pounds, while Sandra seemed to weigh no more than 100. Her arm was slender, but she was strong enough to hold the nurse back.
“Stay back. I can make him wake up,” Sandra said firmly.
The nurse was furious. “Save your breath! This is a hospital. Even top experts can’t wake the patient up! If you don’t let go of the patient right now, I’ll call the police!”
Sandra inserted the third needle, growing impatient.
“If you can calm down after calling the police, go ahead,” she snapped, then moved her finger slightly to push the nurse away, causing her to almost fall to the ground.
The doctor, Iris, and Rebecca, who had been discussing Oliver’s condition at the door, immediately reacted. The doctor rushed in to stop Sandra and even called for security.
Rebecca and Iris only wanted to make sure Oliver was okay.
Sandra frowned in annoyance. “You’re all so noisy!” She looked displeased.
By the time the doctor arrived, Sandra had already inserted the tenth needle.
“Miss, you’re committing murder!”
The doctor growled, hoping Sandra would retreat. Oliver’s attending physician, Eddy Parker, was filled with anger.
“Stop her! She’s killing the patient! If she could wake him up with just some needles, we wouldn’t have to work anymore!”
As soon as Eddy finished speaking, security rushed in. But they didn’t dare to make any rash moves, knowing Sandra was treating Oliver.
Eddy gritted his teeth. “What are you waiting for? Stop her before she kills the patient!”
Sandra warned again, “Only three more needles to go. You’d better stay quiet!”
Iris cried harder, gripping Rebecca tightly. Though she was agitated, she couldn’t speak.
Rebecca stared at Sandra, remembering the years they had spent together. Sandra used to buy fruit from her on the mountain. Despite everything, Rebecca didn’t know why, but she felt a strange trust in Sandra.
“Don’t move. I believe in her.”
She was surprised by her own words.
Iris looked at Rebecca in disbelief.
But Rebecca was determined. She repeated, “I believe in Ms. Hill.”
Iris covered her face again, tears streaming through her fingers. She thought maybe Rebecca was right. Since Oliver was unlikely to wake up, perhaps letting him go peacefully would be better.
If he died, he wouldn’t have to suffer anymore.
But even so, she still couldn’t bear to let Oliver die. Tears blurred her vision.
Eddy was furious. “Can you take on the responsibility?” If they extorted money from the hospital, he’d lose his job.
Rebecca took a deep breath. “You can take out your phones now and record a video. I will explain the entire situation, and it won’t involve the hospital.”
Eddy immediately took out his phone. “Okay, go ahead. Just to be clear, we are not coercing you.”
Rebecca said firmly, “I’m doing this voluntarily. I will take full responsibility for any consequences.”
By the time the video was recorded, Sandra had already finished inserting the silver needles. She then began her countdown.
“Three, two…”
Eddy put away his phone and sneered. “You think you’re some kind of remarkable doctor? Save your breath!”
As soon as Sandra finished speaking, a gasp came from the hospital bed.
Oliver’s pale face regained some color, and his eyes fluttered open slightly. He was really awake?!
All the doctors, nurses, and security guards stared in shock. They couldn’t believe their eyes.
The hospital director and other higher-ups who received the news quickly rushed over, and the ward soon filled up with people.
“This can’t be happening!” Eddy yelled.
