Chapter 1666

chapter1666

At the Lerman family estate, a glossy-furred tabby cat lay sleeping contentedly on Leonard's lap. He, however, was staring at his phone.

Ever since he had rejected Stella's call, she hadn't sent another message.

Leonard's brow furrowed. Could she really be in some kind of danger, unable to send another message for help?

At that thought, a pang of regret hit him.

Stella had never called him before, nor had she ever suggested they meet, always maintaining a faint distance. He could sense that she didn't want to get too close to him, which, for Leonard, was actually a good thing. Once Stella found out his true identity, she would surely want nothing to do with him.

But for her to suddenly call him out of the blue... something must have happened. With that, Leonard cast aside his fear of being discovered and dialed her number.

The call was immediately disconnected. A notification appeared on his screen: he had been blocked.

Leonard froze.

He tried sending Stella a message, but it failed to deliver. He quickly realized Stella had blocked him.

A look of disbelief crossed Leonard's face. Did she block him just because he didn't answer her call?

His gut told him that couldn't be the reason. But he couldn't figure out what it could be.

Leonard gripped his phone tightly, his breathing growing ragged.

He picked up his phone, about to order his subordinates to track Stella's

whereabouts, when it rang. It was Jonathan.

Jonathan's voice was laced with annoyance. "Leonard, you've found your cat. You

should have time to look for Aurora now, right?"

The Williams family had been

staking out every point of entry in Germany for days. They had spotted a few people who resembled Aurora, but after tracking them down, they all turned out to be decoys. O Logically, if Aurora had been taken to Germany, there should have been some trace of her. The most likely explanation was that she wasn't in Germany. If so, could she still be in Solmaris?

But Solmaris was the territory of their major families. Keeping Aurora here would be risky. Though they were all searching Solmaris, the Lerman family controlled the

underworld, had the best intelligence

network, and was the fastene

at

finding people. After all this time, it was impossible for there to be no news at all.

Leonard was already agitated about being blocked by Stella. He had blocked the Williams family, yet they were now harassing him from a different number.

His mind was consumed with Stella, and he was in no mood to deal with them. He said a single, cold word, "Scram."

Then he hung up.

He immediately made another call, ordering his men to track Stella's movements.

Tracking someone took time, and Leonard grew increasingly anxious and restless, unable to sit still. After only a few minutes, he couldn't stop himself from calling his assistant to push for results.

The assistant paused, clearly taken aback. "Mr. Lerman, it hasn't even been five minutes... It's not that fast to track Ms. Cameron."

Leonard was silent for a moment. "Tell them to hurry."

"Yes, sir."

After hanging up, Leonard still couldn't bring himself to wait calmly. He thought for a few seconds, then used a new number to try and add Stella as a contact After a long wait, there was no response.

Just then, his assistant finally called. "Mr. Lerman, we've found Ms. Cameron's

location. She's at Joshua's place right now...".
