Chapter 1626

chapter1626

Just then, there was another knock on the office door.

Coleman Williams, having also noticed the complete lack of news, strode in. "Jonathan, Aurora, what's going on? Why wasn't the news released?"

Jonathan expressionlessly relayed what his assistant had discovered.

Coleman was stunned to hear it was Leonard. He turned to look at Aurora.

"Aurora, why would Leonard block your news? By the way, didn't you say you saw him at the party yesterday? Don't tell me he's acting up again because you haven't been paying him any attention?"

Jonathan also looked at Aurora. "Aurora, what exactly happened between you and Leonard yesterday?"

Aurora put on a troubled expression. "Leonard once had a painter he greatly admired. That person's name was Summer, who turned out to be Stella."

Jonathan and Coleman exchanged a look. The fact that Stella was Summer had been dug up a while ago. People had been trying to expose some dirt or scandals about Stella. As it turned out, they didn't find much dirt, but they did uncover several of Stella's other identities. The painter Summer was one of them.

As for the so-called scandals, they were all recycled stories about her previous marriage and having a child, which Stella's team quickly dealt with. Abby even used the opportunity to slam the media outlets that reported it, publicly stating on social media:

"We haven't broken any laws or morals. Since when did having been married and having a child become a scandal? Is this some kind of discrimination? Are divorced people not allowed to have new lives?"

In today's society, with divorce rates being so high, the media outlet that broke the story didn't dare respond. It wasn't just divorced people, even those who weren't divorced felt it

was in poor taste to attack someone over a failed marriage. Following that, Stella's many talents were revealed, completely turning public opinion in her favor, and her popularity soared even higher.

Now, Stella's fame and reputation in the industry were on par with Aurora's. The two were inevitably compared, and though the initial goal had been to attack Stella, she came out unscathed while Aurora's reputation took a hit. Ugly terms like "illegitimate daughter" and "fake socialite were all thrown at her. That's why the Williams family had been looking for an opportunity to clean up Aurora's image.

Aurora continued, "I was about to bring it up to test if Leonard and Stella's relationship had eased at all, but Leonard interrupted me. He took me to the back garden and told me that after finding out Stella was Summer, he had destroyed all of her paintings. He didn't want me to mention it, so Stella couldn't laugh at him."

Neither Jonathan nor Coleman found this surprising.

"Their relationship is so terrible, it's understandable that he would see it as a humiliation and not want Stella to know," Jonathan said. "But why would he suppress Aurora's news?"

Coleman suddenly spoke up. "Could it be... Leonard's possessiveness?"

Jonathan and Aurora both looked at him.

"The photos we sent to the media made Aurora look too beautiful," Coleman explained. "Given Leonard's personality, he would never tolerate the idea of other men lusting after the woman he likes. It's not that strange for him to not want others to see Aurora's good side."

Jonathan's face darkened. "But he can't ruin Aurora's plan for his own selfish reasons."

Coleman looked at Aurora. "Aurora, Jonathan is right. Even if he won't help us, he can't drag you down for his own selfish desires."
