Chapter 880

chapter880

Nobody’s a fool here. It was clear as day that the plot to frame Thalassa for theft was a charade

orchestrated by Amelia and Charlotte.

Why else would Amelia lie about the bracelet being a fake?

She wanted to downplay the importance of the bracelet, implying that it wasn’t the Sinclair family

heirloom. Her plan was to convince Lysander and Zephyr that there was no reason to make a fuss over

a fake bracelet. She hoped to sweep the incident under the rug.

But she didn’t anticipate her lie being exposed by a four-year-old child. Eventually, Zephyr checked the

surveillance footage and saw that it was Charlotte who had set Thalassa up.

Zephyr only reprimanded Charlotte, sparing Amelia of any blame, likely to save her face.

If Amelia didn’t learn her lesson now, it would make her a fool.

Amelia, her eyes still filled with resentment towards Thalassa, glared at Payton and said with a pained

voice, “It’s because of that woman my son is dead! I had just one son. Do you know how much it hurts?

I just can’t stand to see her happy!”

She pounded her chest, tears welling up in her eyes.

She knew that ever since Leopold reunited with Thalassa, he hadn’t been himself, even resorting to

drastic actions.

She knew that Thalassa was like a cancerous tumor to Leopold, threatening his life at any moment.

But all she could do was watch her son suffer, unable to help him, and watch him take his own life by

jumping off the building.

Who could understand how painful it was for a mother to lose her son?

She suffered the loss of her son, and she couldn’t even punish the woman responsible!

She had already conspired with Charlotte to accuse Thalassa of stealing the bracelet at the banquet, to

humiliate her, have the police publicly arrest her, maybe even lock her up for a decade or so. She

hoped that Zephyr and Lysander would be disgusted with Thalassa and kick her out for good.

That would be satisfying.

So she gave the bracelet to Charlotte to stage this grand spectacle..

But then Lysander showed up and asked Zephyr to check the surveillance footage with a determined

and cold demeanor.

Amelia, in her rush to teach Thalassa a lesson, forgot about the surveillance cameras, leading Zephyr

to discover the truth and break off Charlotte’s engagement with Lysander on the spot.

From now on, she couldn’t even use Charlotte, that brainless woman, to hurt Thalassa. It was going to

be a lot harder to deal with Thalassa.

“Enough!” Payton shouted at Amelia. “You know exactly how your son died. Don’t blame others for your

mistakes!”

Payton knew about the shopping mall bombing incident from Zephyr.

Leopold, in an attempt to frame Lysander and strip him of his CEO position, arranged for workers to

place phosphorus in a cell phone, causing it to explode on contact with air, killing two workers instantly.

Afterward, Leopold even forced the Sinclair group to take all the responsibility.

During his confrontation with Lysander, he chose to jump off a building, ending his life to resolve the

situation.

What Leopold did was so paranoid and mind-boggling.

As Leopold’s father, Payton didn’t understand why he chose to do this.

He could have chosen not to jump. There could have been a better solution.

He could have admitted his mistakes, and the Sinclair family would have helped him. At worst, he

would have served a few years in prison and then could have lived his life.

But he chose the most extreme path.
