chapter844
Thalassa quickly averted her eyes, no longer looking towards the cemetery. She wiped the tears from
her face, hung her head low, and turned to leave.
Zephyr hadn’t allowed her to attend Leopold’s funeral, and she hadn’t insisted or created a scene. She
had simply followed in silence, watching the ceremony from outside the cemetery, just to bid Leopold a
last farewell.
Now that his funeral was over, there was no point in her lingering.
Thalassa was standing at the western gate of the cemetery. A few steps forward would be an entrance
of another gate.
Feeling down, she walked on. Her gaze flickered, and at the next gate, she saw a familiar figure.
That was a woman with stunning figure; she was in a low–cut black dress and her hair was tied up in a
ponytail. She was focused on the funeral inside the cemetery.
As if sensing someone approaching, the woman turned around, and her eyes met Thalassa’s.
The moment their eyes met, Thalassa stopped in her tracks and stared at her silently.
Isabella was also looking at her. Her naturally fierce eyes, which were gazing at Thalassa, gradually
turned cold and sharp.
“Well, aren’t you the one who’s been clinging to the Sinclair family tree? How come you can’t even
attend their funeral? Even I, an outsider, can!” Isabella stared at her for a while, then suddenly sneered
mockingly.
Thalassa furrowed slightly. She wasn’t in the mood to talk about this so she turned to leave.
Isabella quickly stepped forward and blocked her path. Her eyes were filled with fierce, anger and
hatred; her teeth clenched tightly. “Thalassa, what’s with the high and mighty act and the heartbroken
look? All thanks to you, Leopold is a dead body now! If he hadn’t loved you, if he had forgotten you and
been with me, he wouldn’t have died! It’s all your fault!”
Isabella was agitated; she grabbed Thalassa’s shoulders and shook her like a madwoman.
Thalassa’s mood was already at rock bottom. Listening to Isabella’s rant, her head felt like it was about
to explode and her brain filled with a ringing sound; the pain almost tore up her nerves.
Her words were like a sharp knife that stabbed into her heart; it caused her unbearable pain.
The tears she had managed to hold back now flowed freely.
She had watched Leopold die in front of her, and she knew just how terrible and tragic his death had
been.
Now Isabella was saying that Leopold’s death was all her fault. The pain was enough to tear her soul
apart.
After venting her anger, Isabella pushed her away, her chest heaving, her eyes filled with anger,
frustration, and heartbreak, “That’s right. Five years ago, I stole him from you. We just slept together
and didn’t have kids, but you, you slept with Lysander and had four children! You’re far worse than him
when it comes to betrayal! You hurt him even more!
You knew you wouldn’t be with him, so why didn’t you push him away? Why did you give him hope?
Why did you make him unable to forget you?”
Isabella was hysterical and behaving like a mad woman.
Even though she had only spent one night with Leopold, he was the man she had fallen for at first
sight. Her feelings for him were deeper than for any other man she had ever met.
No matter who she was with, there was always a place for Leopold in the deepest of her heart.
She loved him!
Even when he tried to take her down with him in a car fire, she never blamed him. She only felt sorry
for him, loving him but not being able to have him, yet still obsessing over him.
She had wisely stayed away from Leopold during this time, only to find out that he was dead.
When she heard that Leopold was dead, Isabella’s world collapsed.
She had heard about Leopold’s funeral today and had specifically worn black to attend.
