chapter882
Garrett blinked in surprise. "Your school's forum?"
"Yeah."
He shook his head. "Nope."
Honestly, Garrett had never bothered to check out the Capital Med School forum.
Lydia gave him a look. "Maybe you should."
Now he was really confused. Was there actually something about him on there? With a shrug, he pulled out his phone and opened the forum.
Whoa!
He scrolled for a second, and his jaw dropped. He had only been at Capital Med School for one morning, but somehow, the whole place was already buzzing with rumors about him. The craziest part was people were actually trying to match him up with the school's so-called campus queen.
Seriously?
He couldn't believe what he was reading. Garrett felt like his brain had short- circuited. The wildest thing was, he didn't even know this Yara girl they kept talking about, and now people were comparing her to his sister Lydia? He almost laughed out loud.
"Hey, Mr. Norwood, isn't that the girl from last night? Richard asked, squinting at Yara's photo.
Garrett frowned, thinking back. He'd only caught a quick glimpse of her and the lighting had been bad. Honestly, he wasn't even sure what she looked like. Maybe she kind of resembled that girl from last night?
"I'm not sure," he said. "I didn't really get a good look."
Everyone else seemed amazed. How could he forget a girl that pretty after seeing her up close? If Yara ever found out he hadn't even noticed her, she'd probably be crushed.
Lydia looked at him in surprise. You met her last night?"
Richard nodded. Yeah, we'd just left the lab. She walked by, said hi to Kevin, and kept going."
Lydia nodded, connecting the dots. So Yara had already seen Garrett the night before.
Garrett remembered that Lydia was a total tech whiz. He really didn't want all these wild stories about him floating around online it wasnt fair to the girl and he definitely wasn't looking for a girlfriend right now.
"Lydia, can you get rid of these posts?
She arched an eyebrow. "So you're not interested in her?"
Garrett sighed. Where did people even get that idea? "Seriously, I'm not. Lydia, I need your help. Please clear all this stuff out."
Lydia couldn't help but grin at how flustered he looked. "Alright. Give me a minute. I'll take care of it."
As soon as she agreed, Garrett let out a huge sigh of relief. "Thanks. I owe you."
Everyone else went back to their tasks while Lydia hopped onto a lab computer and logged into the forum. The threads were still blowing up, and Yara was getting even more votes. The comments about her and Garrett were everywhere, with people gushing about how perfect they'd be together.
Meanwhile, the remarks about Lydia were brutal.
[Lydia's two-timing and totally shady. How could she ever be good enough for Mr. Norwood?]
[Seriously, are the people shipping Lydia and Mr. Norwood out of their minds?]
[Mr. Norwood is basically a living legend. Lydia doesn't deserve him at all. Vote for
Mr. Norwood and Yara, let's make them the top couple!]
There were even nastier comments, some almost too harsh to read.
Lydia just snorted. If people wanted drama, she'd give them more than they could handle. Her fingers flew across the keyboard, moving so fast they blurred. The screen kept
flickering, flipping between ver
and blue, almost like she'd hacked the whole thing.
Five minutes later, Lydia finally leaned back, grinning at the now very different poll
post.
At that exact moment, the entire school forum exploded.
For Yara, it felt like the world had ended right there. She and Tina were just about to
leave their dorm for class when suddenly, their roommate let out a scream.
"Oh my god!"
