Chapter 874

chapter874

The girls practically swooned, all of them suddenly extra sweet to Lucinda.

"Seriously? Wow, he sounds like a total catch."

"Yeah, Lucinda, could you maybe give us his contact info?"

For real, Lucinda, I've been feeling weird lately, like my chest hurts or something. I'd love to ask your brother for some advice."

"Lucinda, which hospital does your brother work at? I want to see if I can get an appointment with him too."

Lucinda walked to her dorm like she was on a red carpet, surrounded by girls hanging on her every word.

Behind her, Juna frowned, feeling more irritated by the minute. She grabbed her phone, shot a quick video, and sent it straight to Lydia.

[Babe, that fake princess is showing off again at school. When are we finally going to take her down a peg?]

Juna was honestly over it. She couldn't figure out what went through Lucinda's head. All she did was brag all day about stuff she didn't even have. It was classic overcompensation. Meanwhile, her own best friend was a legit star but always kept things so low-key, almost like she was hiding.

Lydia was sitting in a car, waiting for Garrett, when she got Juna's message. She watched the video, then smiled like she'd seen it all before. She replied with just one word.

[Soon.]

Juna sent back a gif of someone waiting eagerly. [Hurry up, please. I can't stand watching her act like she's all that anymore.]

When they got to Capital Med School, it was four thirty on the dot. Garrett dropped Lydia off in front of her dorm and then hurried off to Kevin's office.

A few students noticed that Lydia's ride was different this time, and the driver wasn't the usual one either. They started whispering.

"It's just different when you're that pretty. She always has someone new picking her up."

"I know, right? She's gorgeous and the top student in the country. Is this her new boyfriend?"

"I have no idea. Who knows how many boyfriends she actually has?"

Sandy happened to walk onto campus just as Lydia was getting out of Garrett's car. When the car drove past, Sandy caught a glimpse of the super attractive guy behind the wheel and clenched her jaw so hard it hurt.

Why was it that Lydia always ended up with guys who had both money and looks, while she only ever

seemed to run into creeps? Justnet

thinking about everything she'd been through in the last couple of days made her whole body tense up.

She's always surrounded by men. You all just don't see it, Sandy said as she passed the group of gossiping girls.

One of them recognized her right away. Sandy from Freshman Class Three, the top student who'd been the only one to pull off a perfect dissection in their firs lab. She was

kind of a legend. She was also the one who had posted a public

apology to Lydia on the school forum.

"Sandy, wait, aren't you the one who "

"I apologized, yeah," Sandy cut in, her voice cool. "But it's still true she's always got different guys with her. You saw it yourselves, right?"

With that, she walked into the dorm building.

When Lydia finally got back to her room, two figures suddenly jumped at her from out of nowhere. If she hadn't recognized them in time, she probably would have drop-kicked them both.

"Lydia!"

"Lydia!"

Monica and Fiona hugged her so tight she could barely breathe.

"Are you two trying to strangle me?" Lydia gasped, laughing a little.

They let go immediately, their faces full of excitement as they stared at her. "Lydia, are you actually Lorelei? It's you, isn't it?"

Lydia raised an eyebrow, a tiny smile forming. "Took you long enough to figure it out."

Monica and Fiona both screamed in delight.

Lydia clamped her hands over her ears.

Monica looked at her like she was meeting her hero in real life. Lydia, you're amazing! You're a superstar!"

Monica absolutely adored every song Lorelei had ever released. To her, Lorelei was

the rare, genuine talent in the whole entertainment world.

Fiona immediately pulled out her,

favorite Lorelei postcard and handed Lydia a pen. "Please, Lydia, I've been dreaming about getting your

autograph forever. Can you sign this for me?

Monica rushed to grab her own notebook. "Me too, me too! Don't forget me!"
