Chapter 779

chapter779

Lydia was just impossible to figure out. What else was she hiding?

"Grace, you are the worst! You're like some disgusting bug crawling in the shadows. We must've been out of our minds to keep you around for so long!" Cameron was so angry he looked like he could kick her right then and there. This woman was trouble, through and through.

"How could you be so evil? Lydia's barely been back for any time at all. Why would you make up lies about her?" Kylie asked, her voice sharp and cold as she looked down at Grace.

Now that everything had come to light, Grace still wouldn't admit a thing. She looked up at Kylie, tears streaming down her face. "Mrs. Norwood, I swear I didn't do it. There must be some mistake. Someone could've faked that evidence. It's not real, Mrs. Norwood. Please believe me."

Lydia raised an eyebrow, watching Grace cry. "So, are you willing to hand me your phone?"

Grace froze. Her phone was a vault of secrets. She'd deleted so much, wiped things clean, but Lydia was just too good. She'd managed to recover videos Grace thought were gone forever, all in just five minutes. If Lydia got her hands on that phone, it would be over.

"You are scared?" Lydia pressed.

"It's not that, Lydia. It's just... there are private things on my phone, personal stuff. I really don't want to show you, I'd be embarrassed," Grace said, trying to sound calm.

"Oh? Your private things? That's funny. I've already seen some of them," Lydia replied, her eyes narrowing with a coldness that made it hard for Grace to breathe.

Grace was already barely holding it together, and now Lydia was hinting at even more? God, she only had one heart, and it was pounding out of her chest. What else had Lydia found?

Look at you, all scared. Anyone would think you'd committed some horrible crime, Lydia teased.

Grace felt like Lydia was going to be

the death of her. This slow,

relentless way of exposing her was torture. She almost wished for everything to just end quickly, instead of being dragged out like this. Still, she didn't dare make a move. long as Lydia didn't have hard evidence, she'd never admit to anything. The amount of shady stuff Grace had done while working for the Norwoods was too much to count; she honestly couldn't even remember it all.

Just then, Blake, who'd been scrolling through screenshots, suddenly tensed up. His hand clenched on the keyboard, knuckles white Everyone in the room could feel the

ressure tolling off him

thick and heavy, like the air itself

was about to snap.

Blake, did you find something?" Cameron asked, catching Blake's expression.

Blake turned the laptop so Cameron could see, then looked straight at Lucinda. "Lucinda, she's your personal nanny. Did you know she was doing all this?"

Lucinda felt like she'd just fallen off a cliff. The bottom had dropped out from under her.

Blake, this is all my fault! It has nothing to do with Lucinda!" Grace cried out.

Blake's eyes were icy. "Let her answer for herself."

Lucinda could barely breathe, the weight of everything pressing down on her. The

way Blake looked when he was angry was genuinely terrifying.

Grace dropped to her knees, her forehead hitting the floor with a loud thud. Her voice was desperate and firm. Blake, I just couldn't stand seeing Lydia come back and take all of Lucinda's affection. I did all of it. It had nothing to do with Lucinda. Please, don't blame her!"
