Chapter 721

chapter721

"That's on them. They tried to mess with us and it totally backfired. How is that our fault?" Fiona was fuming, convinced the instructor was taking Daisy's side on

purpose.

"I only believe what I see. Stop arguing and come with me for your punishment," Hudson barked.

Daisy stood there, soaked and messy, but clearly feeling smug. She crossed her arms and lifted her chin, looking down her nose at Lydia and her friends. "Well? What are you waiting for? Go get your punishment and start over. Or are you just going to stand here all day wasting time?"

She let out a little snort. She'd already tipped off her cousin about everything. Of course these instructors would be looking out for her.

Suddenly, a cold, commanding voice cut through the tension. "What's going on here?"

Everyone turned. A tall man in camouflage strode toward them, his presence impossible to ignore. His eyes were piercing, like he could see right through everyone. Each step he took seemed to carry real weight, making the ground almost tremble. His face, partly shadowed by his cap, was all sharp lines and serious authority. He felt like a blade, unsheathed and ready, filling the air with a pressure that made everyone stand a little straighter. Just having him there made it clear no one could mess around.

Hudson and his fellow instructor froze. The Commander-in-Chief? What was he doing here?

Daisy and Patricia stared, speechless. They'd thought Jay was the most impressive guy in uniform, but this man was on a whole different level. He was ridiculously good-looking. How had they never seen him before? And there was something about him seemed oddly familiar.

Daisy squinted at him, trying to remember where she might've seen him. All she could think was that he was unbelievably attractive.

"Sir, it was them!" Daisy stepped forward, putting on her best helpless act, assuming Connor was yet another instructor her cousin was close with. "Their team wanted to win so badly they pushed us into the water on purpose."

Fiona and Monica exchanged

glances. They both thought Connor looked familiar, but couldn't quite place him. As soon as they heard Daisy' accusation, they jumped in to defend themselves. "That's not true! They tried to push us in first but it didn't work. Instead, they fell in themselves. They have no one to blame but themselves!"

Daisy shot them a furious glare. "Monica, Fiona, you know you did it on purpose! You shook us off on purpose!"

Hudson wanted to groan. Was Daisy really this clueless? Couldn't she see the commander was right here? If he decided to dig into this, they all be in serious trouble: fo

"Since both sides have a different story, let's check the security footage," Connor said, his voice icy and calm.

The words made Daisy and her friends freeze. Even Hudson and the other instructor immediately went tense.

"Commander, it's just a small misunderstanding. Let us handle it. We'll make sure it's fair," Hudson said, forcing himself to sound confident.

Connor barely spared him a glance before turning to his assistant. "Pull up the surveillance footage for this area. I want to see exactly what happened."

Connor's adjutant one of his most trusted people nodded and immediately got on the radio to the control room.

Hudson felt like his heart was being squeezed tight. Still, he held onto a tiny bit of hope. Milo was working in the control room. Maybe Milo would cover for them and not send the real footage.

But then the video came through.

Connor watched the footage, his face turning colder by the second. When he finally spoke, his voice was like a sheet of ice. "This is your idea of handling things fairly?"
