Chapter 686

chapter686

Ms. Powell let out a laugh, her tone edged with disbelief as she stared right at Wally. "Mr. Rivers, do you really think our school is desperate for Daisy?"

She'd tried to give the Rivers family every courtesy, but they just kept getting more arrogant, more entitled, like nothing and no one could touch them. Well, if that's how they wanted to play it, there was no reason for Capital Med School to keep putting up with their attitude.

"Ms. Powell? What's that supposed to mean?" Hadley stared at her, eyes wide in shock.

Funny enough, they actually shared a last name. The first time they met, they even joked about it. Now, though, Ms. Powell was ready to go to war with the Rivers family over one student, and Hadley was furious.

Ms. Powell just smiled, calm and unbothered. "There's right and wrong in everything. If you refuse to be reasonable and only want to throw your weight around, then there's nothing left for us to talk about. If Daisy wants to transfer, our school will support that decision one hundred percent."

Her words landed like a slap. It wasn't the school begging Daisy to stay, it was more like, please, feel free to take her elsewhere.

"You! Ms. Powell, do you speak for Kevin? For all the students at Capital Med School?" Hadley's voice was sharp, almost frantic.

Ms. Powell nodded. Lydia is a student we worked extremely hard to bring here. We're not about to let her get bullied on her very first day. And about the future of our students, you don't need to worry about that. Even if all of them wanted jobs at Rivers Corporation, would you even have room for them?"

Ms. Brown finally spoke up, her voice trembling a bit. "Ms. Powell, how can you risk the future of so many students for just one girl? What good could possibly come from making the Rivers family our enemy?"

In her eyes, standing up for Lydia just wasn't worth crossing the Rivers family.

Ms. Powell's eyes narrowed. "Ms. Brown, you've ignored the rules, used your position to intimidate and and even tried to

threaten a student,

force her out. We'll deal with you

after this."

Wally clapped his hands, slow and mocking. Well, Ms. Powell, if that's how it is, we have nothing more to say. Without Rivers Corporation's support, I'm sure you'll regret this."

Hadley nodded, face red with anger. "Yeah, let's see how you explain this to all your students."

Wally snorted, then turned to Daisy. "Daisy, come on. Whoever tried to mess with you today, I promise they won't get away with it."

Daisy lifted her chin high, glaring at Lydia. "Lydia, you're going to regret this. And as for you two she shot Monica and Fiona a look, dont even think about coming to me for

anything in the future."

Monica and Fiona just looked at each other, helpless. There was no going back

now.

Lydia just smiled, cool and unbothered. "We'll see who'll be the one begging."

Wally was just about to leave, waving for his wife and daughter to follow, when his phone rang from his pocket. He glanced at the screen. It was his father.

He figured his dad was calling to check in, so be answered, putting the call on speaker for everyone to hear. "Dad! You won't believe this. Capital Med I is actually faking some random student's side and

wants Daisy to leave. They're totally unreasonable. From now on, Rivers Corporation will cut all ties with them. Any student from Capital Med School is blacklisted from our company. Let them deal with the consequences."

He said it loud, wanting everyone in the room to hear just how powerful he thought

he was.

But on the other end, Mr. Rivers exploded. "You idiot! How did I end up with such a clueless, disappointing son?"
