Lydia didn't seem to care what they were saying. She stepped out onto the balcony and answered her phone.

Connor's deep, smooth voice came through. "You get to school okay?"

"Did you get everything unpacked?"

Lydia raised her eyebrows. "Dinner? I have to go to the lab tonight."

Connor sounded disappointed. "You wouldn't let me drive you to school, and now you don't even have time for dinner?"

Connor let out a sigh. "Alright. I'm flying overseas tomorrow morning. I'll be gone for a week."
