Chapter 474

chapter474

Aiden watched as his boss got more and more caught up in the kiss, unable to look away. He hesitated, then slowly pulled out his phone. Should he sneak a picture? Opportunities like this didn't come around every day. If Mr. Jefferson ever grilled him about how things were going between his boss and Lydia, at least he'd have some proof.

Connor had been holding back all day, so it made sense that he'd finally lose control. Lydia, on the other hand, usually had a pretty thick skin, but this was a first for her. Her face turned as red as a tomato.

Passersby caught sight of the two of them, and some started to smile or even take out their phones, snapping pictures to post online. The whole moment looked straight out of a movie.

Connor! Lydia finally managed, cheeks flushed as she pushed him away.

Connor watched her, noticing how her whole face seemed to glow, and he couldn't help but feel a rush of sweetness in his chest. "Come on, let's get some dinner."

At the same time, Kylie and Cameron arrived at Blake's private villa. The moment they walked through the door, the soft sound of piano music floated down from upstairs.

"Listen, Lucinda's gotten even better at piano," Kylie said, her eyes lighting up. The song she was playing was beautiful. Lucinda must have been practicing hard for tomorrow's competition.

"She really has a gift," Cameron replied, smiling.

Grace hurried out to greet them. "Sir, Madam, Lucinda's been practicing nonstop since she got home this afternoon. This new piece she's working on is just stunning.

I know she'll win the championship tomorrow."

Kylie nodded, smiling. "She sounds wonderful. Is Blake home yet?"

Grace paused for a second. "Not yet. But I've already told the kitchen to get dinner ready. It'll be waiting for him when he gets back. Lucinda's?n been at the piano all afternoon, so she could use some rest."

Kylie and Cameron didn't find Grace's concern surprising. After all, she'd been by Lucinda's side for eighteen years.

But in the eyes of Mrs. Collins, the housekeeper, Grace's attitude was getting harder and harder to ignore Mrs. Collins had come straight from France when Blake hired her, and she took her job seriously. She'd heard plenty about Grace and Lucinda. People said Grace actect like she owned the place, and that Lucinda was spoiled, always looking down on the staff and throwing little tantrums whenever things didn't go her way. Today only confirmed what she'd heard. Still, with Blake gone and Grace running the show, there wasn't much she could do except keep her thoughts to herself.

It bothered her, though. How could a caretaker act so high and mighty? And Lucinda, who wasn't even really a Norwood, still acted like she was the princess of the house. The staff had been grumbling ever since Grace and Lucinda showed up. Mrs. Collins really felt for the employees who worked back homw.

Kylie and Cameron had only stepped a few feet into the living room when something

on the side table drew their attention.

Wait, is that.....?" Kylie moved closer, sounding surprised.

Grace's face turned a little stiff.

Mrs. Collins followed, her tone light. Madam, after Miss Lydia's top scholar results came out, Mr. Blake realized that he and Mr. Authur had actually met her ten years ago."

On the table was a photo of Lydia, Blake, and Arthur, all together at an awards ceremony.
