chapter1328
At the Norwood family home, Lydia was gently woken up at four in the morning by Kylie and Juna. Kylie hugged her tight the moment she sat up. "Happy wedding day, sweetheart."
Lydia didn't know her mom had been up all night, crying until her eyes were swollen. She smiled sleepily. "Thanks, Mom."
Kylie's eyes filled with tears again. She sniffed and quickly said, "Why don't you let Juna stay with you while you get your makeup done? I'm going downstairs to get changed."
"Okay," Lydia said.
Juna watched Kylie leave, dabbing at her eyes as she walked out. The whole moment made her feel a little sorrow. She took Lydia's hands and squeezed them. "You're going to be the most beautiful bride in the Capital today. No one's even going to come close."
The professional makeup team was already set up and waiting. With gentle brushes and soft sponges, they smoothed a flawless base onto Lydia's skin. Juna sat by her side, chatting nonstop to keep the nerves away.
"You know what everyone's saying? For three days straight, people can't stop talking about how Connor's turned 'Lydia's Garden' into something even more magical than a fairytale castle."
"When we get there, I'm going to look around and see just how dreamy it really is."
"And seriously, if Connor ever treats you badly, don't get mad when I hire a whole crew to go after him. That's what best friends are for."
Lydia couldn't help laughing. "If he's ever awful, you won't need to do anything. I'll handle him myself."
Juna just hugged her, holding on tight. "Promise me you'll be happy, Lydia."
She nodded, her voice soft. "I promise."
Once her makeup was finished, Kylie came back to help Lydia into her wedding gown. The silk was pearl white, embroidered with golden threads that sparkled. Tiny pearls were sewn into the dress, catching the light with every move.
Then Elliot walked in holding the crown. The whole room fell silent with awe. Red agate and pearls sparkled in the morning sunlight, casting a soft glow.
Lydia reached out to touch the crown, her eyes shining with tears. "Thank you, Elliot."
Elliot handed it to the stylist, his voice thick with emotion. "I had it made by one of the best artisans in Springfields. There's truly nothing else like it in the world."
Their little sister was one of a kind, so her crown had to be just as special.
Suddenly, there was a burst of noise from outside. Juna ran to the window, then spun around, her voice full of excitement. "Connor's here! The cars stretch down three blocks!"
The Norwood brothers wasted no time. They hurried downstairs. "If you want to marry our sister, you'll have to get through us first."
When Connor arrived at the front door, he was stopped immediately. Blake handed over a gold-embossed challenge list, packed with twenty tough questions. Everything from Lydia's favorite things to the tiniest details about their relationship, and even a demand for a love song on the spot.
Connor didn't hesitate. He answered every question, cool and steady, never missing a beat. When the crowd started cheering for him. sing, he stepped up in front of the closed door and sang his heart out He wasnt much of a singer, but he'd practiced for this moment.
After passing every test, Connor finally walked upstairs. The moment he saw Lydia, he froze. She stood
