Chapter 130

chapter130

The founder of LYLX was a legend. Everyone just called her Miss L. She was wildly talented and no one really knew much about her, which only made her more mysterious. The brand she built was everywhere. It had become a global status symbol and people from every country dreamed of owning a piece of LYLX.

Jenny had always dreamed of following in Miss L's footsteps. To have her own label one day, to be adored by fans all over the world... It sounded impossible, but dreams were supposed to be big, right?

"Do you want to go full-time soon?"

Jenny blinked, caught off guard. Was Ms. Norwood really suggesting what she thought she was?

But she couldn't accept a shortcut. If she was going to make it, it had to be on her

own.

"There's the International Fashion Design Competition going on right now. If you hurry, you can still register. If you make it through the national preliminaries, you'll get to compete in the finals in Country F. As long as you reach the finals, no matter what place you get, the company will make you a permanent employee and promote you to a full designer."

"Wait, really? Ms. Norwood, are you serious?"

Jenny knew all about the competition. She'd wanted to enter from the start, but when she first brought it up, the whole design department shot her down. They laughed at her, said a fresh grad and an assistant had no business applying. Even if she managed to sign up, it would just be embarrassing for her and the company.

So she dropped it. That was that.

But now Ms. Norwood was actually encouraging her to go for it. Not only that, if she made it to the finals, she'd get promoted to designer, not just assistant. Jenny was so excited she could barely breathe.

"Yep. I'll be sending out an official announcement to the design department this afternoon. May the best designer win. Good luck, Jenny."

Jenny practically floated out of Lydia's office, grinning so hard her cheeks hurt. This was her shot. She felt alive again, like she could stay up all night sketching just like she used to.

Since starting at Greenward Power, Jenny had felt more and more defeated with every passing day. She owed everything to Ms. Norwood. Ms. Norwood was her lucky star.

After the lunch break ended at half past two, Lydia sent out two company-wide memos and the whole place erupted.

Meanwhile, Parker and Rose were losing their minds. Their precious son was still stuck at the police station and nothing they tried was working.

No matter what they did, the officers wouldn't budge. They kept saying the rules had to be followed.

The thing was, Greenward Power was actually under the fifth precinct's jurisdiction. Parker and Rose had spent years cozying up to the fifth precinct chief, sending gifts on holidays, always making sure things were smooth. But now, Lydr? had called in the first precinct instead, and Parker and Rose were completely helpless.

After yet another call ended with the fifth precinct chief hanging up, Rarker finally snapped Useless! The one time I really need help, atbl get are excuses!"

He was about to lose it. That morning, before he even got to the office Rose had called and told him Lydia had gotten their son arrested. He'd rushed over, tried everything he could think of, but it was all pointless. He couldn't believe this was happening.

Didn't you call Kylie? Has she said anything?

Rose had been waiting for Kylie to reply, but there was just silence.

"Nothing."

"Then call her again!"

Rose was just as anxious. "I'm worried if I push her too hard, she'll give up and leave us to handle it alone."

Parker was about to explode when his phone rang again. It was Trey, his assistant. "What is it? I'm swamped here!"

"Mr. Parker, it's bad. Ms. Norwood, she... she..."

The second he heard Lydia's name, Parker's face clouded over. "What kind of mess

is that girl causing now?"
