Chapter 1294

chapter1294

Connor hesitated, turning the question over in his mind before finally saying it out loud. "Lydia, can you tell me who Jay really is?"

Since Lydia lost her sight, Connor had taken on most of her responsibilities. He needed to know exactly who Jay was, why he was with Lydia, and what role he played in her life.

Jay was a mystery, and despite Connor's best efforts, his team had never managed to uncover any real information about him.

Lydia understood that, if she wanted her plans to move forward smoothly, she would need Connor's help. Some things just couldn't stay secret anymore.

"He's Iceblade," Lydia said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Connor stared at her, stunned.

Iceblade? The top assassin from Blood Oath? That was Jay?

Suddenly, everything clicked. Those assassins in Country D, and the ones Connor

had run into before... it all made sense now.

Lydia seemed to read his thoughts. "I know you have a lot of questions. You're probably wondering if he was involved in any of those attacks on you."

Connor nodded slightly. He had been thinking exactly that.

Lydia continued, "Remember the time you were badly hurt? I got there so fast because he warned me it was coming."

Connor's eyes widened. Was that really true?

He's someone I trust," Lydia went on. "That's why I decided to work with him. He shares information with me, and I help him break free from Blood Oath's control."

The truth was, Iceblade would have helped Lydia no matter what. She was Lydia. If she wanted something, he'd find a way to get it for her.

"But since what happened in Country D, there's been no sign of him," Connor said. He had tried to track Iceblade down, but it was like he'd disappeared off the face of the earth.

Lydia nodded. He probably went back to headquarters. He promised he'd help me find proof that Jackson paid Blood Oath to kill you, but now he's just gone quiet. I'm worried something's happened to him, that maybe he got exposed."

Connor watched Lydia, realizing just how much she'd been doing for him without ever saying a word.

"Lydia... meeting you is the best thing that's ever happened to me."

She laughed, a little embarrassed. "You're being so cheesy right now."

Connor squeezed her hand, thinking hard. "Blood Oath's intel is

legendary. If anyone knows where

Garrett is, its them. They might even know the truth about the clone

incident."

That's exactly why Lydia had teamed up with Iceblade. She'd hoped he could get

her proof or at least point her in the right direction.

But now, Iceblade had vanished. That connection was gone, unless they managed to find him.

"I'll have my people start searching for Blood Oath's headquarters right away."

But Lydia shook her head. "I know where it is."

She'd never been there herself, but Iceblade had once described it to her in a way that stuck in her mind. She was pretty sure she could figure out the approximate location.

Connor raised his eyebrows. "You do?"

Lydia nodded. Yeah, I think I can guess where it is.

Connor fell silent for a moment, then said, I'll take my team to Blood Oath and see

if we can track him down."

It wouldn't be easy. Blood Oath's headquarters was more dangerous than anything they'd faced before. Most people who went in never made it out.

But Connor was different. Lydia trusted him.

Bring your own men, Lydia said quietly.

Connor nodded. "Of course."

Lydia added, "And bring your mercenary alliance too."

Connor paused, giving her a long, searching look before finally smiling. "When did you figure that out?"

Lydia smiled back. "Back in Country T."
