Chapter 1127

chapter1127

Lydia turned to Byron and said, "Byron, take Frank out of here. Find a private interrogation room. I want to talk to him alone."

Byron nodded, then glanced at one of the officers nearby. "Bring Frank out."

Two officers stepped forward and grabbed Frank by the arms, dragging him out of the cell.

Frank started panicking. He was sure Lydia would make things hard for him, maybe even torture him for a confession. He squirmed and shouted, "Lydia! I already told you it was all me! What else do you want from me?

The other inmates, covered in tattoos, watched silently as Frank was hauled away at Lydia's command. The room suddenly felt colder. What exactly had they just said in front of her? Regret crept in fast.

Inside the interrogation room, the lighting was harsh and cold.

Lydia sat across from Frank, her eyes sharp and unblinking. "You probably don't know this, but Lucinda almost got kicked out of the Norwood family yesterday."

Frank's face changed instantly. "What?" His voice was tight with worry.

He tried to recover, forcing a scoff. "Don't try to fool me. Lucinda grew up in the Norwood family. Why would they throw her out?"

"It's true. She and Grace tried to set me up. I caught them."

Frank stared at her, stunned. "What?"

The whole reason he was sitting in this cell was to help Lucinda stay in the Norwood family, so she could get her share of their fortune.

"In the end, Grace took the blame for everything. She's here too. Haven't you seen her?"

Frank's nerves snapped. He spat out, That stupid Grace! How could she mess things up so badly?"

He realized what he'd said and slapped a hand over his mouth, but it was too late.

Lydia's lips curled up. "So Grace was the one pulling your strings?"

Up until now, Lydia hadn't found proof that Frank and Grace were working together. She'd just

followed her gut, piecing together what happened and guessing they'd in on it from it from the

all been race,

Start Frank,

nd Lucinda."

Poor Frank still didn't know that Lucinda wasn't even his daughter.

Frank tried to act tough. "You're making things up. I don't know what you're talking about." He clenched his fists hard, sweat breaking out on his forehead.

Lydia raised an eyebrow. "You don't know what I mean? So you don't even know who Grace is?"

Frank looked right at her and lied, "I don't know her."

"Oh? If you don't know her, then

never mind. She's got nothing to do with you how anyway. The day she was arrested, she was hanging out with some young guys I guess you're not her type anymore."

Frank's face turned red with fury. "What did you just say?"

Sure, Frank loved to gamble, but he was still a man. And what mattered most to him? His pride. In his mind, Grace was still his. Now Lydia was saying Grace was sneaking around with younger men behind his back?

Even after being apart for twenty years, hearing something like that hit him hard. It felt like Grace was making a fool out of him.

He was sitting in jail for Grace and her daughter, while she was out there living it up? The anger burned in his chest.

Lydia didn't bother with his rage. She stood up and said, If you don't want to talk, that's fine. But when you're out of here and you're broke, don't come begging me for money."

Frank's panic showed right away. "How much can you give me?"

Lydia smirked. I already know enough. How much do you think your information is worth?"

Frank's eyes narrowed. "I know a secret about her, something you definitely don't know."
