She couldn't possibly mistake her uncle's car. She even double-checked the license plate. It was definitely his, which was why she was so shocked.

Mandy frowned, clearly puzzled. "Your uncle is always so busy. Why would he be anywhere near your school?"

Rosie dropped her voice. "Mom, you don't think he's interested in some girl at my school, do you?"

Mandy's response was quick and sharp. "Don't say things like that. If anyone heard, it could ruin his reputation. It was probably just one of his subordinates using the car."

It was common knowledge that on weekends and evenings, expensive cars would circle the university area. The girls at the university were all adults. The school didn't police their social lives, and everyone knew relationships were a personal choice. But this situation couldn't be linked to Jackson in any way.
